Your Guide to Mainstreet Waynesboro’s Wizarding Weekend
From magical markets and movie nights to wizarding workshops and family-friendly adventures, here’s everything you need to know before heading downtown.
Every summer, downtown Waynesboro transforms into a world of magic, mystery, and imagination during Mainstreet Waynesboro’s Wizarding Weekend. Now celebrating its 10th year, this beloved community tradition brings together local businesses, organizations, artisans, and visitors for a weekend filled with themed activities, interactive experiences, shopping, dining, and entertainment. Festivities take place Friday July 31st & Saturday August 1st.
As the Greater Waynesboro Chamber of Commerce, we’re excited to highlight this annual event and many of the Chamber members and community partners helping make the weekend memorable. Whether you’re a lifelong Harry Potter fan or simply looking for a fun family outing, there’s something magical waiting around every corner.

Friday Night: Let the Magic Begin
The festivities begin Friday evening with several can’t-miss events throughout downtown.
Harry Porter Pub Crawl
Hosted by Mainstreet Waynesboro, the Harry Porter Pub Crawl invites witches, wizards, and muggles ages 21 and older to explore participating downtown establishments while enjoying themed beverages, costumes, giveaways, and magical surprises along the way.
The crawl begins at 66 West Main Street, and tickets include a commemorative keepsake glass.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone
Round out the evening with a showing of the film that started it all at the Waynesboro Theatre. Whether you’re introducing a new generation to Hogwarts or reliving the adventure yourself, it’s the perfect way to kick off the weekend.
Create Your Own Prophecy Ball
Looking for something hands-on? Stop by The Vintage Flame to create a mystical keepsake worthy of any wizard’s study.
Saturday’s Can’t-Miss Experiences
Saturday is packed with magical activities from morning through the afternoon.
Visit Borogon Alley
One of Wizarding Weekend’s signature attractions, Borogon Alley transforms Main Street Park into a bustling marketplace filled with magical vendors, handcrafted goods, themed merchandise, food, and unique shopping opportunities.
Whether you’re searching for wizard-inspired treasures or simply soaking in the atmosphere, Borogon Alley is the perfect place to begin your adventure.
Explore the Great Hall of Activities
Located at 66 West Main Street, the Great Hall offers something for every age, including:

- A Sorting Hat quiz

The Alexander Hamilton Memorial Free Library is once again joining the celebration with an impressive lineup of wizard-themed programming throughout the day.
Activities include:
- Potions Class
- Herbology
- Divinations with Looney Lovelokay
- Quidditch Matches
- Dobby’s Sock Scavenger Hunt
- Bowtruckles building activity
Many of these programs are free, though some require advance registration.
Make Something Magical
If you enjoy creating as much as exploring, several local businesses are hosting hands-on workshops throughout the weekend.
The Vintage Flame
Create your own Prophecy Ball, test your skills in the Wizard Potion Escape Room, or return Sunday for Wizard Cake Decorating.
Bathe.
Mix magical bath potions, craft wizard-inspired soaps, and create enchanted bath products in a variety of drop-in workshops.
Vibrantly Wild
Continue the creativity with themed art workshops throughout the weekend, including enchanted hanging books, wizard jars, tote bags, ghost painting, owl painting, and more.

While Wizarding Weekend is hosted by Mainstreet Waynesboro, the event is also a wonderful opportunity to discover everything downtown has to offer.
