Waynesboro Area School District The Waynesboro Area School District educates about 4,200 students from Waynesboro, Washington Township, Quincy Township and a small portion of Guilford Township. The district is comprised of four elementary schools for students in kindergarten to sixth grade - Fairview, Summitview, Hooverville and Mowrey; Waynesboro Area Middle School for seventh- and eighth-graders; and Waynesboro Area Senior High School for ninth- to 12th-graders. At the elementary level, emphasis is placed on developing reading and mathematical literacy and introducing children to hands-on science. A team teaching approach is used at the middle school, where teachers balance the instructional and developmental needs of early adolescents. A block schedule is used at the high school, where students study four main courses each semester. The curriculum includes more than 140 courses, plus nearly 30 classes at Franklin County Career and Technology Center.
