Scavenger Hunt is a competition for businesses and organizations that belong to the Greater Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce. The Tim and Susan Cook Memorial Chamberfest One-Mile Race starts at Chambersburg Area Middle School and ends at Chambersburg Arean Senior High School.
Registration begins at 7:00 am at the Chambersburg Memorial YMCA, 570 East McKinley Street.
The Women's Race, will be at 8:00 am, Men's Race, 8:30 a.m. and Fun/Run Walk, 9 a.m.

Wayneboro area children are invited to spend a summer morning exploring nature when Renfrew Institute presents Sun & Fire: Into the Woods on Thursday, July 17, 2008, Children will learn to use their senses to explore Renfrews trails. Amazing wonders can be discovered when you move quietly through the woods, said biologist Dr. Doris Goldman, who will lead the activity. Participants should wear sneakers or hiking shoes. No sandals please. The program is designed for children completeing grades 4-8. Cost is $3 per child, meet at the Renfrew Park Visitors Center

The Greater Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce wil partner with the TGIF program by the Council of the Arts, with a CHAMBERFEST KICKOFF CEREMONY at Memorial Square, featuring Cha,bersburg Mayor Pete Lagiovane and Franklin County Visitors Burau Director of Tourisum Janet Pollard as speakers. A band called Philadelphia Avenue will perform. There will be a tribute to the Chambersburg fountian which was placed on the Square 130 years ago. |

Blue Ridge Summit Ice Cream Social
The Blue Ridge Summit Free Library wil hold its annual ice cream social and book sale in the library and on the surrounding grounds. The event is being sponsored by Pen Mar Development Corporation.
More than 1,000 books will be offered for sale, used videos will also be sold, a white elephant sale will be included along with the sale of plants, flowers and other items. Library t-shirts, tote bags, note cards, art prints by Lester Jay Stone, christmas ornaments and wood block replicas will also be available for sale. The Blue Ridge Summit Lions Club will sell brooms and will also conduct vision screenings for children. Blue Ridge Garden Club will display and sell flower arrragements. Food items for sale will include hot dogs, steamers, nachos, snacks, beverages, baked goods and funnel cakes. Ice cream will be provided by Antietam Dairy, which will donate a portion of sales to the library. Musical entertainment
